The EMT – Enhanced Certificate includes the courses for EMT certification as well as additional courses to advance the EMTs scope of practice and to open more employment opportunities. We don’t yet have data on the AEMT program which launched in fall 2019. PCC has a pass rate on the National Registry of EMTs at 67% for EMTs and 100% for Paramedics. The EMT, Advanced EMT and Paramedic programs require a background check and drug screen before admittance. The Paramedic has a higher level of training in patient assessment, pathophysiology, diagnostics and treatment.Įach of these levels has a national exam and a state certification process. The Paramedic level is the highest recognized in Colorado for out-of-hospital emergency medical personnel. The Advanced EMT has an expanded scope of practice with additional medications, assessment and treatment. Having an EMT certification is a requirement for advancing into the next levels of EMS. EMT is the entry-level program and the course will teach you the basics of scene size-up, patient assessment, and patient treatment. We offer three levels of EMS education: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic. Our EMS program will prepare you to enter the field of emergency medicine.
